I decided to unmount everything from the front panel and remove the front panel entirely to better access the zero clutch mechanism. I suspended all the front panel switches and pots using cable ties to take off any stress.

I don’t think I can remove the zero clutch gear and tension plates without first removing the kilocycle control locking disk.

My dial is only off by a maximum of 0 - 4 kc on the various Megacycle positions and I don’t want to lose the synchronization of the dial to the VFO.

Does anyone have any advice how to remove the kc control locking disc?
