Over the years, I’ve run into folks at hamfests who would supply you with repo tags for pretty much
any mil item that Collins ever made. All of them offered custom serial numbers. Some stamped serial
numbers right there when you bought it. Others shipped the tag to you after putting the serial number
on it “back at the factory”.
At least the ones I ran into did an amazing job on the tags themselves. Typically the weak point was
how well they duplicated the serial numbers (font / size / ….).
