In that case, I presume the factory did not use a chromate conversion after all. 

Yes, the fingers are easily broken, that's for sure. Fortunately, all of mine are intact. 

The large knobs that Hank made before he passed were so nice! I wish someone else could take up that effort. I just don't have the tooling for it.
