[R-390] R-388 question?

I did a few ( 4 or 5 radios) for different folks years ago, it is a 
pullen mixer, reduced the ENR of that first mixer. not sure it was worth 
all the effort...pain especially to make it look nice....I no longer 
have the info....it went with the last radio 10 or so years ago....wish 
I had kept a copy of my notes. IIRC I used a 6ES8. I think the original 
article was in Ham Radio early 70's for a 75A4?
