[R-390] Collins R-389/URR RF deck cover

I suspect that anything one can do to get the heat out of the radio will extend it's life,  That includes removing covers of radios that are rack mounted and installing blank panels above and below the radio to allow for better airflow.  
In addition, if the tube shields are not IERC types then the tubes will last a lot longer without the JAN tube shields installed, IMHO.Jim

My 389 is missing that cover as well. I did a fairly exhaustive search when I got the radio a few years ago and decided that when the radio is in the rack I can't tell whether it has a cover or not..........
I believe I made a drawing of one as I was going to see if the machinist at work could make me one, but I never followed through.
Not many left out there so demand will be pretty low.
