[R-390] Stewart Warner production numbers..?

Nick mentioned that Collins tracked all R-388's produced across all contracts with a sequential production number, I believe that Capehart and Stewart-Warner may have done the same thing.  I guess we will not know for sure until more nomenclature tags are removed and that area of the front panel is inspected.  EAC may have done something similar, but the production number is somewhere else on the main chassis.

Nick and I exchanged emails years ago about an eBay photo of a R-390A.  It was missing the nomenclature tag but a Navy anchor inspection stamp was clearly visible where the tag would have been.  One of my R-390A's does have an orange triangle inspection stamp under the tag area, the other three do not.

I don't know if Collins continued the sequential production number marking for the R-390 and R-390A.  If Collins did, than I could identify my tag-less R-390 as either Collins or Motorola built.

Jim,  It looks like your R-390A numbers agree with Tom Marcotte's chart on our website.  That's interesting that the Capehart and Stewart-Warner had the ink stamp under the mfg tag, but not the EAC.

LarryI have four R-390A receivers.  Two are EAC, one is a Capehart and the last is a Stewart-Warner.
EAC, Nomenclature Tag S/N is 1165, Contract is FR-36-039-N-6-00189E
EAC, Nomenclature Tag S/N is 1666, Contract is DAAB05-67-C-0155
Capehart, Nomenclature Tag S/N is 2896, Contract is 21582-PC-61
Stewart-Warner, Nomenclature Tag S/N is 185, Contract 20139-PC-60
Looking beneath the Nomenclature Tags one can find, on occasion, an inspection stamp from the Government Source Inspector.  Usually Army, sometimes Navy.  Neither EAC had any markings under the tag but both the Capehart and Stewart-Warner had an inked stamped serial number.
They are 2922 for the Capehart and 2576 for the Stewart-Warner so this might be another place to look for production S/N's.
A question for Nick: I also have four R-390 receivers.  All have seen better days and are not complete examples so the idea is to make one or two working units from the four organ donors.  Three have nomenclature tags supplied by Collins.  The fourth has no tag so I have no idea who was the manufacturer.  If Collins also had a S/N on the main frame, where would it be located?
Regards and have a great Memorial Day,Jim
