I had not noticed the contract number issue, but when I first saw the 
photos I immediately noticed the shoddy quality of the ID plate.  I have 
made a number of ID plates for various radios and other equipment 
(full-scale and model engines, etc.), and know dozens of folks who have 
done the same.  We have all gotten results that look original.  The ID 
plate on this Fowler looks positively crude by comparison (including 
fuzzy imaging and a number stamp that is too large) -- not at all what 
one would expect from a factory radio.
