[R-390] Apollo 11 50 years ago

After dark, I took my 6 year old daughter outside and we looked at the moon and I told her 2 men were on the moon.
These activities this week have been special for me because I worked at NASA from 1962 to 1967, and worked in the Apollo project in the very early days, doing software development (we called it 'programming' then :-)  I was SO blessed to have been there at that time...it was exciting in the extreme!  We were going to the moon!
I have a lot of special memories of those days, although I missed Apollo 11.

What a memory, what a time.  I was in Saigon that day and a group of us went
to a restaurant for lunch and we had a portable radio and listened to it.

What a momentous event and we were all so proud to be Americans and we all
come together even in those difficult times.
