Hi Larry and other fellows,

I connected the output of the R-390A to my AirSpy HF+.

The signal is indeed low, but still usable.

The issue is the IF bandwidth of the stock R390A. It is too sharp to be useful as a signal monitor.

You see only the tuned signal, or little more.

I will try to make the mod…

Nice find, Francesco.  Although the signal level out on an R390 will be low, it will be even lower on the 390A because of only 1 rf stage in the A.
