I found a copy of the CD Disk circa 1997-8  I unzipped files and tried to run on my Win10 PC as administrator and compatible with either Win95 or Win XP but no joy.    I have a Win XP laptop somewhere and will see if that works.

 

In the meantime, the images I unzipped are JEDMICS C4 format and I can open them with a free software called xnView (you must go into options and enable all formats).

 

You can see images as icons in file explorer but no index…. BUT you can use xnView to look at them.

The single CD I am talking about contains the engineering drawings to fabricate the R-390A. Chassis, gears, etc. Came from the Army Comms Command at Ft. Monmouth.

I have the 4 CD's on the R390a.  I will look at them tonite and see how pages of drawings there are.  When you say drawing do you mean schematics only or also any diagrams/pictures?

I purchased a copy of the CD you're asking about some years ago, and still have it. However, after having replaced my computer a couple of times over the years, along with various Windows upgrades, the CD is no longer usable. An error message appears advising me (rather haughtily, I might add) that the reader installation program "Cannot be run on this computer".  At least my limited computer prowess can't figure out how to get it going. I think it might be that 32-bit vs 64-bit thing. If you can give me any tips, I'm all ears...

I read some months ago, likely on this or another reflector, that someone once had all of the drawings for the R-390a and perhaps even sold as a CD at one time.



Does anyone have access to these and can they be made available again somehow?
