[R-390] R-390a modified IF sub-chassis

Thanks again for your help.  After reviewing the schematic for Mr. Hubbell’s modification, I thought to check the relay.  It turns out that, when energize, the relay disconnects L502 the from terminal 5 (as shown on the Hubbell modification) into L-513 but did not connect to terminal 6 to capacitor on pin 5 of V505.  Thankfully, the relay was a double pole double throw so I moved the wires to the second switch on the relay and the BFO now works perfectly.

 

However, I then realized that some other bands were dead – after looking, it appears that the 8-16 Mhz cam was now out of alignment.  So, I dropped the panel, realigned but then broke a connecting spring wire from a slug on that rack – this has now been re-glued with superglue and I will probably reinforce with epoxy before reinstalling just in time to leave this location for 3 weeks.
