[R-390] WWV shut down. Alternate calibration methods

I'm using a GPS receiver ($20) to discipline an OCXO ($120) at 10 MHz.
Clocks etc. use WWVB because 60 KHz is ground wave so the doppler is not an issue and the path length is constant. I built an up converter so I can get WWVB on the 390AInteresting note: at the speed of light, 1 nS is very close to 1 ft.
I did get QSLs from both - 'At the tone..." was too easy so I decoded the subaudible modulation on WWV. WWV was QSL number 29608 and WWVB was 217.
Another note, one of the big prion labs in the US is in Ft. Collins near WWV and one in Canada is in sight of CHU. Interesting (but off topic) trivia.
Cheers,
Gord, VE3EOS

Hi
I think you have WWVB and WWV confused. The wall clocks / weather stations these days
all use the 60 KHz WWVB signal.
