I'm wondering if it will be strictly satellite based.
Shame to see the HF go away after it has always been there. I remember when somebody first gave me some old test gear when I first got going, Trying to calibrate the time base on an old Tektronics scope, just from the audio.
When I was in the Air Force in the late 70's, the comm station I was in had a couple of those huge 10 channel dual transport reel to reel recorders with 1" tape. One channel was always WWV. During an event, the operator would stick a piece of paper in the reel to mark the location.

Just how does NIST expect that shutting down WWV will not have a serious effect on the measurement of time? Any other time signal is fraught with failure, especially if it is internet based.
The internet will be the first major "failure" in the event of gummite run amuck.

I just read that the NIST has an item in the 2019 budget to shut down 'NIST radio stations in Colorado and Hawaii'. I assume this is WWV and WWVH.
Here's a link to the NIST budget:

If they do go away, how can I calibrate my equipment? I only know using WWV.
