You have to be a bit careful with simichrome... it can take a satin alodine
chassis finish and transform it into a shiny polished surface.

Yes, I concur with Tisha.  I use Simichrome for all metal polishing tasks.
First learned of it from a Police badge collector friend for polishing up
old badges.  It is the best.  Works very well with silver too.
