Tom,
I'd bet they have been swapped out in the past. As far as I k now there
is no depository linking serial numbers. The best I do is check the
manufacturer name on each module and compare with the radio manufacturer
but that does not guarantee that they are the ones that left the factory
together. You might find some manufacturing dates that might help but to
what purpose? Its not like anybody can tell and who would care anyway?
They all work the same. As long as it meets specs you are in good shape.
I've done six of those beasts and my only advice is not to remove the
gears unless someone has messed with them. It can create major headaches
and does little if any good. You have a good approach and are
methodical. Have fun!
