Ray and other curious folks,

I have been on the list long enough to have seen the origins of the kielbasa lore, but can’t remember the details.** In a nutshell, however, the heat generated by the 3TF7 filament regulator (ballast) tube seemed to be enough to heat the favorite snack of one list member. Thus it was proposed to combine our favorite past time (messing with R-390’s) with another happy diversion (eating kielbasa). My favorite accompanying condiment is the traditional horseradish mustard, made locally in the genuine tradition by some Polish folks here in the Connecticut River Valley of Massachusetts.

For further information, see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kielbasa

Hating kielbasa with the regulator tube may take some time, but certainly the heat from the two 6082 series regulator tubes in the R-390/URR and variants IS enough to heat kielbasa in a short time. I have made a fan plate to attach a muffin fan to the sides of such radios that manages the heat *very* nicely. Picture sent upon request.
