Gentlemen?
Far be it from me to throw gasoline on the dumpster fire that was the Gulf War debate and use of R-390A in said conflict, however today I recollected that some 19 years ago I received I a plain brown box from a certain "gentleman" from the country of Texas with a return address of Acme Radio and Dynamite Company. Inside that box were two spanky new covers for my R-390A. I have since moved four times and have not opened the box since 1998, but I did so today and noticed that the covers have bar code stickers duly applied listing the NSN, CAGE and other tasty info.See pic I took today.http://i803.photobucket.com/albums/yy311/R7000/r-390a%20cover_zpsn3zujttu.jpg
>From the cage code I learned that the vendor was
US ARMY COMMUNICATIONS & ELECTRONICS MATERIEL READINESS COMMAND LOGISTICS ENGINEERING DIRand the cost for the bottom cover was $185.14.
I also looked up the NSN for the CY-979A cabinet (pic from Google)

shows same "vendor" and a cost of $1,093.50.
I don't know when the Army started using bar codes but I'm pretty sure it's well after 1967.
