Well, I said in my original post that this might be *interesting* - and it
was!
Kudos to Heinz, Les, and others for Fowler info and for keeping eBay honest.

FWIW, the $38,000 price tag for the Fowler R-390A should be compared to the
contemporary $25,000 R-1051. For a mere $13K extra you get continuous
tuning, narrow bandpass options, ease of repair, etc. in the R-390A....
