[R-390] Some of you will hate this

Back in the 1970s I couldn't afford an R-390A, but could afford an
R-392. Considering the latter to be Really Ugly I constructed a new
front panel and got rid of the military case. This was my main
general coverage receiver for several years.

You'll see one blooper - the plug in a hole marked BANDWIDTH. I had
intended to put a shaft and right-angle gear to attach to the bandwidth
switch, but for some reason I built and attached an AC power supply that
was right in the way of running that shaft. Well it turned out the
bandwidth switch inside was partly broken anyway, so I don't want to turn
it.

Recently I replaced the 26A7 tube with the FET circuit that someone
posted as a direct plug-in replacement.

I admit, by today's standards, I destroyed an artifact. But in the 1970s
I had a nice rack-mount station receiver.
