[R-390] creating a "Golden" R-390A

 Don has mentioned a "gold standard" R-390A.  So how do you know when you get there?
  I am real impressed with the results I am getting with the repaired 390As.  
Propagation has been rather poor lately.  I think this proves to be a real challenge for a good receiver.  I have not done any capacitors in my RF decks,  except for the .01s and the .03.  But no postage stamp micas or the tubular types.
 Now the IF chassis is another matter.  
  So I guess I am trying to figure out how much better this  can get? Russ
