[R-390] nonlinearity in 1st IF-R-390A

Larry  and others-  So I have peaked the 1st IF @  7mc band.  Come down to the BC  band  and  sensitivity is  only fair at best.  So I  repeak it  at 550kc.   So I remember someone said about the ferrite  slugs.  I had one green and 2 others were red.   So I put in 3 green slugs and  repeaked it @550kc.  That got it!  Stations barely hear are now  good signals.  Also now good on 7mc.  I am using a wire in my basement.  A good shielded challenge antenna.  I am happy now,   it acts like a 390A as far  as picking up weak signals.   73s Russ.
