Was wondering recently how Hank was doing, hadn't heard from him in a year
or two. Sorry to hear he's gone. He was certainly an interesting guy who
known for having flown the wings off a lot of different aircraft types over
the years, as well as his radio interest. He certainly didn't suffer fools
gladly or go in for any of the 'political correctness' nonsense, and had no
reservations about calling bullshit on someone spouting new-age rhetoric
about R-390s, be it radioactive meter hype or the black crap in capacitors.
This was when he would most often employ his famous "trying to get the fly
$h*t out of the pepper" comment that Les referenced.

He did a whole lot more radio stuff than just covers, knobs, or tags, too.
I recall years back when I was bringing a load of ARC-5 and Command gear
back into the country from Australia, Hank was in the process of bringing
in a load of Rohde & Schwarz EK-07 receivers from Germany. I got to spin
the knob on one of them that ended up with a list member out in Portland,
while visiting out there. The phrase 'Go big or go home' comes to mind.

And if you were fortunate enough to be on Hank's email list, well.....you
were really in for some entertainment and insight. Lost twins, what caused
the Concorde to crash, and a certain club whose name escapes me now. Still
have a lot of them saved.

Definitely a man's man, from that vanishing generation of the same. He will
certainly be missed by many.

Rest In Peace, Hank.
