Checking in from Eastern Missouri. Relatively new to this list (I thought
everyone was on the Collins group where I've sat for the past eight years),
but I've talked with a few here on the list at one point or another. Not
to sound conceited by any means, but I might be the baby of the group
clocking in at a cheeky forty-three. Nonetheless, pleased to be here and
learning from everyone I can.
Owner of two R-390As, one bought off ePay paired with a CV-591A (also from
that site), both in a fair need of a going through, replete with alignment.
The other is one dog of a machine that was probably one of Fair Radio's
last offerings some years ago. I'm slowly collecting replacement modules
to rebuild that unit and get it functional again. To that end, I'm on the
hunt for anyone with a set of spline screws (including the end cap ones for
the veeder root counter clamps) up for sale. If you have some or know a
source for some, please let me know. The goal is to get both as close as I
can back to full function as well as finish as I have two _beautiful_
CY-979A cabinets I have here; both purchased from a Mac (I believe his call
was W5HPM) down in texas some years ago.
Anybody who's close by St. Louis that wouldn't mind elmering a no-ticket
adult who's semi-proficient in repair and decent with a soldering iron,
shoot me a message off list :D. My local group has no, and I mean _NO_
members (even the old timers) who are interested in anything hollowstate.
Kind of crummy too since I have a whole shelf of stuff waiting for me to
work on. Latest project is getting a BC348P back up and functional again;
tearing down the dynamotor today. Maybe one day I'll get the nerve to work
on the accompanying ART13 also sitting on my shelf.
Merry Christmas (or Happy Holidays if you prefer it) and 73 to all
Reuben
