76° today, yeah I know it's cold somewhere. After leaving Northern Minnesota
over 43 years ago, I have no desire to return.
I've also gone to the "Dark Side," I no longer own a R-390/URR or a
R-390A/URR. By the way that is how to describe the two series when looking
for parts, advice or help for you "Non-A" fans.
I still have my trusty John R. Leary SP-600 (my 4th of Leary's modified
SP-600's), and a TMC GPR-90 that will go to a new owner when he arrives from
Bradenton, Florida. An Icom IC-746 (modified to the hilt with extra filters,
the problematic display is now lit by LED's.
But, the one that caused my departure to the "Dark Side" is a WiNRADIO
WR-G31DDC Excalibur, SDR Software Defined Radio, ie: black box. So nice to
have a gazillion filter choices and a 24" screen to see everything on.
I know, string him up, He's a witch...............I miss Nolan too, but
probably for reasons other than most.
