Bill,
You are right on the typo.
The scope is the 555.
Roger.

Close. There's the 504 and the 506, but no Tektronix 505.
According to Stan
Griffiths' "Oscilloscopes" it is the 555.
The 551 is similar, but doesn't have
separate time bases.
Time base plugins are 21 and 22, not used anywhere
else.
It uses standard 30 MHz vertical plugins, like CA.
Needs a cart for
555 scope and 555 power supply with connection cable.
Stan says don't plan on
building a power supply yourself.
Also, the CRT is special. 6DK6s in vertical
amp has cathode
interface problems, replace with 8136s. Oh, and the high
parts
count has a higher failure rate.
I'd buy one as a challenge, but it's
too late - moving to a small
apartment in a life care facility.
Good
luck,
Bill Hawkins

Perhaps a 565 (Tektronix)? Huge old monster.

Hi Roger,
Is that manufacturer/model number correct? I searched for
"techtronic
505", "techtronics 505", "tektronic 505" and "tektronix 505" and
didn't
find any oscilloscopes.
Thanks,
Barry - N4BUQ
