Thanks for the clarification, Jon. A few others have suggested the same
point privately.
If that's the point of contention that caused Perry to get his undies in a
bunch and lecture the list on his views of speech and manners, it's not
only lame, it's completely off-base. One could make a pretty solid case
that far more sexual innuendo can be attached to the word 'organ' than
organism. Wasn't the original post from Foley about using an old amplifier
from a Hammond organ? Hmmm....'organ amplifier'. Think of the possibilities
to invent a crisis over that one. Trust me on this: Joe Foley has been
around this list for a couple decades as well and is more than able to get
his point across, ESPECIALLY if it involves kicking a beehive. If he'd made
any innuendo, we wouldn't need to reach or stretch to find it.
This is why we leave matters of intent, use, discipline etc to the list
owner. At the very least, it's a solid argument for reading more and typing
less. Or maybe spending less time online and more time out in the sunlight.
Pure non-sense.
