[R-390] To Reman or not?

Several on and off post emails are starting to describe multiple failures of the SM caps in the "A". They have been the reliable components over the years.
I readily concede that remaning is a time consuming effort and certainly not near the top choice of our leisure activities.
But are we at the point where this will be time and cost effective in the long run. I have about 8 "A"'s and a similar amount of SP 600's to go through.  I've decided to go the reman route on the SP 600's when the aroudtoit arrives as they are far older and relatively speaking, easier to do. I've purchased most of the parts and a guesstimate is $100 to $150 for parts, which I bought in volume.
If one needs SM caps, finding alternates to Mouser is advisable as CD SM cap prices have risen dramatically.
