I couldn't resist chiming in on this one for grins and giggles. 


I rework lots's of IF and RF stages monthly. I'll NOT confess my capacitor replacement choice(s) here and now for fear of starting another LONG WINDED Kielbasa-squelched, Capacitor WAR. However, I end up with lots of BBOD's in an empty Maxwell House coffee can each month or two.


The Audio guys JUST  L O V E  these caps and at Audio frequencies, in most cases, the pieces pulled from old IF/RF modules are fine. Though,,,, these are like a fine wines, the longer they stay in a dark cool wine seller, the better the flavor.

AUDIO FACT;,,, BB  Capactors are aged to AUDIO PERFECTION in the hot, IF and RF stages of ONLY R390A receivers; THEY MUST BE AGED IN AN R390A RECEIVER , NO EXCEPTIONS WHATSOEVER!! EVERYTHING ELSE IS TOTAL JUNK...  I am absolutely CERTAIN that BB's pulled from R390A's, especially ones with MANY LONG hours of use sound FAR, FAR, FAR better than NOS BB's. Besides, these are the only capacitors that GOD ALMIGHTY, himself, uses in his tube audio gear!!! 


That's my story and I am sticking with it. 


Plus,,,, I am trying to establish a well documented cyber generated FACT based on total and complete nonsense!!!! Be careful with ANYTHING you read on the internet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


My next ePay title ad will read, " R390A AGED ULTRA-ULTRA-HIGH-END BLACK BEAUTY AUDIO GRADE CAPACITORS"


I encourage others to do the same. Collectively we might be able to drive the value of R390A aged BBOD's to $25 - $50 each OR HIGHER!!!!!!!!!! Imagine the coffee cans filling the rooms in our shops and houses!  


Think I am kidding,,,,Some guys sell OD's on ePay calling them Fender or Gibson Guitar OD's. I have seen these sell for $50 each because some guitar banging dude thought/thinks it must be the better because it's a FENDER or GIBSON OD!!! Those sellers are laughing all the way to the bank and back!!!

At any rate, when I pull the BBOD's, I save as much of the leads as possible; that really gets the juices of the audio guys FLOWING. Then I gently wipe of the years of dust, cig smoke, battle ship greases and what have you, straighten the leads nice and pretty, take a few, very well lighted, pics with 30 or so at a time, post them on ePAY. Then some, sucker,,uh,, audio guy GLADLY sends me his doe for my freshly harvested High End Audio BB's. This gets funneled back into my coffee fund and life is GOOD TO THE VERY LAST DROP!!!


If you happen to be in the upstate part of SC sometime, give me a call and I'll have you come over for a nice hot cup of R390A capacitor powered JOE!! Forget the $8/cup Starbucks coffee junk, R390A CAPACITOR powered coffee is far better AND IT'S FREE!!!!!!!!!!


To date, I have never missed a cup or 3 of hot coffee each morning as I am burning solder. Personally, I find this to be all kinds of funny but audio guys have their opinions and I am not here in this life to change their minds but rather to allow them to buy my coffee and do they ever. I got $170 for one batch of 30 BBOD's earlier this year; those went to Japan... I buy LOT's of Maxwell House and both my inventory of coffee and coffee funds are in EXCELLENT SHAPE!!!  Hi Hi  


Please, no coffee brand wars,,,I like MAXWELL HOUSE,,you drink what you like..OK??
