There you go again, misrepresenting what I said and spewing alleged
"facts" that you could have no possible way of knowing.

First, you didn't suggest "that someone might want to make a DBM
mixer using the LM 1496 chip to replace the *A* first mixer." You
said you wanted ME to design such a mixer. You also said you wanted
it to be a "plug in" solution.

Specifically, you said: "I would like to see that with your skill
set you would design a plug in DBM first mixer replacement using the
LM 1496 for the *A*. I think that it would be a quantum leap improvement."

I never said it wouldn't work, I said that if I were to design a new
first mixer I would never use an LM1496 because it would be too
noisy. I could have continued that it would also have limited
dynamic range and would give what most people would consider
extremely disappointing results -- worse than the stock circuit, not
better -- all based on extensive experience with the LM1496 and other
mixer circuits. Furthermore, I suggested an alternative that would
not suffer from those problems.

Finally: You claim to know what I have and haven't designed and
built over the last 40+ years?? That's just pathetic.

Please, if you are going to attribute a position to me in the future,
get it right.

Thank you,

Charles
