[R-390] Tower

Hi

Every time I’ve bought tower stuff, it’s been freight shipped from the factory me. The freight cost generally was pretty major compared to the tower cost. Towers are big and they can take up a good chunk of a truck.

When it got to my QTH, getting it off the truck was my responsibility. If that meant I had to have a crane - I got to rent the crane and schedule everything to meet up in the front yard.

I’d start with a call to Rohn and then a few to their competitors. It’s the full delivered price that counts, not just the price of the tower parts sitting 1,000 miles away from you.

A nice triangular Rohn one would be Jim Dandy.. I've tried several places, nobody wants to ship to my QTH in NE Tennessee. This is not so much for my collection of R-3XXs, as much as it is to DX FM with, this area is an FM DXing HEAVEN..Believe it or Not, I've pulled in FM on a cheapy little JVC CX-500US AM/FM/TV/Cassette unit from Warner-Robins, Ga, to Roanoke, VA, & Charlotte to almost Nashville.. Anyhow, you can post to the list, I suppose, or to me directly CHG111 at Hotmail.com or Sandy Geiger, 217 Circle Drive, Rogersville, Tenn. 37857, or even my facebook page. Would LOVE to hear from some of the "Old-Timers" again..
