A digital camera with a good macro mode, and a tripod to hold it 
steady, are invaluable aids when working on the 390A.  Best results 
will usually be obtained with the camera's flash turned off to avoid 
specular reflections, shadows, and glare.

You could easily take dozens or even hundreds of shots of things as 
you disassemble the radio, to make reassembly easier.

Other than that, go slowly and don't force things.  The mechanism 
will tell you what needs to come apart to get where you need to 
be.  If you undo something that doesn't need to be undone, redo it 
before proceeding.
