Hi Alan

You will find some units with the spring missing and they work ok.  Take the
spring off where ever it is easiest to get to. If you lose the spring - one
from a ball point pen will work! The oldham coupler is the size of a quarter
and is hard to miss if it hits the floor!  Good luck with your project.
