Hi

Around here, even for active duty in uniform, Lowes does not “officially” have a 10% discount. If you pick the right cashier when you check out, you can indeed get lucky. Yes around here 2/3 of the cashiers either are military or have a military spouse.

Since moving in 2010 we've gotten the military discount on a double door refrigerator, front loader washer and dryer set, propane grill, and the other things needed. Wives get expensive at moving time. The refrigerator was a just unpacked floor unit for a 10% off sale, so we also got 10% off for it being on the floor for 24 hours, and the military discount. 30% total savings. On the grill, I went back when I first heard of the discount policy and they rang the grill back as a return and then resold it to me at 10% less. You can't beat that! I had to get a zero turn mower for the carpet grass, and those suckers are expensive but my Walmart Murray had been on life support anyway for years and it gouged the heck out of the new yard. I ended up finding the Lowe's price and the discount, and a local guy matched it. I got to support the local small business guy who had it in stock at the military discount price from Lowe's. Lowe's isn't my favorite place, but I do support them because they support vets with ID cards. T

My wife and I both got full free meals at Olive Garden AND a $10 off coupon. We didn't have cash on us, so we had to buy a coke in order to put a very generous tip on the debit card. Golden Corral also has free meals. Doing a search will turn up a lot of places to choose from.
