[R-390] Entire OT diatribe

Folks,

This list as a good number of others do, goes into a cyclical modes of
completely OT periods.

Regarding my tongue in cheek response of smacking said owner with a
board, I never resort to physical violence to resolve an issue, and
certainly would not strike a human with a board.

At the worst, I've have applied a hand slap on the back of the head on
very rare instances.

The entire topic was begun with a precautionary note to ensure that NO
animals could get to the crockpot that had such a fluid inside it.

Somebody leaped into "keep it from dogs". I see it as keep any form of
Ethylene Glycol from animals in any endeavor.

A post popped up insinuating that putting it out for dogs was inhumane
and continued in this path.

I can't think, or believe, that there is one single member of the list
that would ever harm any animal intentionally.

It becomes a self replicating equivalent to a shark feeding frenzy.

We all are indeed adults. Somethings did get aired that aren't for
non-adult consumption. I've yet to see this list seriously go the path
of child behavior.

Off the wall would be a far better description of the OT excursions that
occur.

A fair number of this group went across the pond. It wasn't pleasant in
any manner. A discourse of past tours of duty will come to pass
infrequently. Never has this included specifics of the gore and guts in
a manner that offends the human senses.

I will not leave the list. The members have come to understand me in
some ways. I'm not a electronic wizard, have never professed to be.

I inject what I do know, and indeed did produce the original cap list
from Birmingham Dave.

I make mistakes in the technical arena. Is anyone mistake free? On this
list in particular.

We enjoy our radios. We crack up in our OT excursions. A bit of humor
is good for people in general.

There is a degree of warped, perverted and perhaps certifiable humor on
this list in general.

I firmly believe that everyone needs to sit back, relax, and let these
last few days pass in peace.

We'll recover. Choking the list by either moderating or censoring is
simply insane.

The list would deconstruct or you may prefer the term implode.

When this happens to a list, it rarely really recovers.

To anyone whom had decided to leave the list over that last few days of
OT posts needs to relax, observe, and see it recover.

Adults have a little spark of insanity in them by human nature!

Welcome to being human! It is more interesting than being a stick in
the mud, starched collar, and stiff lipped automatons.

Let us take a short pause, regroup, and return to our normally scheduled
posts.

Technical talks, ideas to fix things, and the like are the real normal
of all list members.

We may go OT again. Let's see - we went OT regarding R/C aircraft and
their engines. No byte or bit was altered, destroyed, nor was there an
implosion of the list.

Animals that all of us consider cherished pets, are indeed dear to the
members hearts.

I did bring up being forced to euthanize a very sick and terminal pet.
I found the experience highly disturbing, even though it was in the very
best interests of this pet. It still disturbs me to recall that day,
and what I had to do for his benefit.

He earned that care from all the love that he gave for over 12 years! I
still have a mental view that under equivalent conditions, human should
be allowed this path out of the horrible state they are in. It is much
worse with a pet, since communicating is impossible. Enduring a major
brain failure is something that none of us has experienced.

Nolan Lee had a life altering brain failure. He and his sense of humor
have been sorely missed. I'm extremely pleased that they have been
preserved for what we believe is eternity in out FAQS compendium.

I'd have to say that even Dr. Dallas Lankford is also missed in some
ways. His technical ideas and changes are still kept in many places.
They even appear in our FAQS regarding the use of diodes in the BFO
circuit, and some others that he experimented with and posted the
results and recommendations.

My piece is now ancient history.

This list should simply go back to normal. Post your messages as you
always would, and lets us all just go back to the norm.

OT posts will happen again. Lord only knows what will be the subject of
the next OT series.

It really doesn't matter.

Enjoy!
