The VT-240 is a treasure at any time you can get hold of one!

I paid $400 for it, flew it well, then was offered $800 for it. So I
sold it to further fund the hobby back then.

When the complete lack of interest happened, I had a fairly decent
collection of new engines. I packed them all up and sent them to a
Brother Warrior that I never met, yet we have communicated quite a bit.
He and I were/are interested in two common hobbies. Well, I should say
we "were" into two hobbies.

Frank is well into the R/C aircraft hobby, and has been into the
Astronomy one as I still am.

He has elected to simply put all the new engines on display status.
They are ones that you will no longer obtain.

All he did was provide UPS Shipping. I was tickled to let him have
them. The fact that they are only on display is a tribute to high
quality workmanship that isn't seen any more.

Then in 2005, I tempted him with an acquisition I made in the middle of
'96. This object is another "rare" bear. It is a Robart R-780 7
cylinder radial engine. It turns a 26" prop with great authority!

I never ran it, it was in its original case, and included the exhaust
collector.

Frank went nuts over it!

His trading offers pretty well got out of hand. I had to restrain him
to a degree.

I ended up with a Megrez 80mm ED II refractor, several Nagler Type 4
EPs, a firearm, and to much other to list.

He got the Robart running, and then sold it to someone as the power of
it scared him to even contemplate getting it airborne.

He also got a 1/4 scale Super Stearman kit to go along with it. Frank
simply isn't into building.

Going to leave it at all this. We've gotten so far OT that somebody is
bound to say something!
