Sounds like you need to pick up a nice stock JX somewhere so you can play with some of these upgrades/mods.  It’s a great radio and there are a lot of them out there...

 

I’m looking forward to doing a couple of mine that are waiting bench time.

 

Too bad the Northern Radio is not a better documented variant.

The problem with all this additinal SP-600 info is that my SP-600 is one 
of the Northern Radio versions.

Most, actually about all, does not apply.

The Northern Radio Variant is a J-11.  No JX version at all.  It is the 
first diversity version and is a bit of an oddball.  There are no 
crystal switches, and it used a Master Oscillator along with a second 
SP-600 by Northern Radio to work in diversity.

Very little is common with the JX series.
