The Hakkos typically come with a cleaning wire (just a steel wire
that you poke into the tip every now and then while it's hot to keep
it clear). A good idea for any desoldering tool.

Hakko makes other desoldering tools, including the fabulous FM-204:

Improved suction, very tight temperature control, faster recovery,
handle can be used with or without pistol grip, station supports
other tools (for soldering, soldering/desoldering surface mount
components, etc.), and it can be used for nitrogen-shielded soldering
for the ultimate in surgically clean joints. It is considerably more
expensive than the 808.

Best regards,

Charles
