[R-390] KIWA MAP unit on an R390A (similar to a Sherwood SE-3?)

I've been following the Sherwood SE-3 thread with interest.  I picked up a KIWA MAP (Multi-band Amp pickup) unit, version 1.0 in a R390A purchase a few years ago - it was an accessory that was thrown in.  I have yet to hook it up and use it.   I believe it was a predecessor to the SE-3 and basically does the same functions.  I also believe the Seattle based company that manufactured it is now out of business.
 
Same questions:  Has anybody had any experience with one of these attached to an R390A?  What was the opinion?  Thanks!
