Robert,

We so hate 50 plus year old caps that leak.

It may just be a meter adjustment problem.

The carrier meter adjust is a known sorry set point.

Read up on the problem as it is the same in the R390 as the R390/A

One issue noted on my test was the carrier level meter sits in the
resting position when powered down. When the receiver is turned on the
needle slowly climbs to full scale deflection. Adjusting the RF gain
knob doesn't seem to make a difference
