[R-390] CV-591A/URR SSB convertor

I have a question for anyone owning one of these convertors. 
How hot should the 6AQ5 tube get?  I just got mine hooked up, been playing with it. Usually give a quick finger check to see if the tubes are warm........or there about's. I touched this tube and all I can say is *&^%&$^%#%$#$%$*%^(^(*^&*............man its hot! Is this normal? I know this is probably not a good check, but all the radio's and such I've tubed touched, never have found one this hot. Normal or not?
