You are absolutely correct.  I was typing faster than I was thinking 
-- thanks for catching the error!

(Note that the circuit operates the 5814A at only 75 volts and 2.3 
mA, with a 56k plate resistor -- way, way away from the usual 
operating point of 10 mA or more with a plate resistor well under 10k.)
