I have an HP-3336B Frequency Synthesizer. It has an output down to
-72.99 dBm. I've got an attenuator from an old GR-1001A that will be
attached to the output. So I'll be able to take the 56.167 µV rms
output, and throttle it down significantly.
I've one SS Kenwood R-200, and have gotten it to where it was not
connected to my AN/URM-25, separated by 2 - 3 ft., and had a solid
signal with no antenna attached. It was only picking up the sig gens
leakage.
I'm not overly fond of the R-2000. It has loads of birdies. It does in
a pinch, and can be muted through the accessory jack on the rear panel.
I'm going to perform an alignment on my Northern Radio SP-600. I'm
going for the highest sensitivity I can get with it. (I'm still stuck
with waiting for decent weather before I can finish the front panel of
the R-390A that's on the bench. Then I'll finally get it up and going.
