The trick with the turret is removing the small RF module assemblies on the lower two bands that contain the black beauties. These assemblies are fastened to the turret with metal spring clips. When removing a clip and reinstalling it, keep a finger on the clip at all times. If you don't, these clips can shoot across the room a surprising distance and hide in the damnedest places. (Ask me how I know this). Once you remove a couple of the clips, you get the hang of it pretty quickly.
While you have each module out, it's a good time to clean the pins on the bottom of each module. These pins engage with the fingers on the RF deck. Dirt or corrosion on the pins or fingers can impair performance.

>I mis-spoke when discussing re-capping the SP-600 Turrett. The hard part is re-capping the "RF Deck" mounted on the right side of the turrett. THAT is the challenge.

>Someone corrrectly remined me off list that the caps you need to pull in the rotating turrett can easily be done by removing the bottom cover of the turrett compartment. As I recall, only the 2 lowest bands have black beauties in them.
