[R-390] BBOD caps/solder

Tisha is absolutely right about cleaning the turret fingers. I had an SP-600 that required a little wiggling when I changed bands. With the RF deck out, I cleaned the fingers very gently with solvent and a Q-tip. Once it was reassembled, no wiggling was needed when I changed bands.
The IF cans are tricky. In Chuck Rippel's SP-600 DVD, I believe he breaks one of those little wires while demonstrating how to recap the IF can. If it can happen to Chuck, what hope is there for the rest of us?! Actually, you just have to take careful note of where those wires are and refrain from swinging around any pliers, screwdriver, soldering iron, cutting tool or other implement of destruction.
