Todd,

Yes, it's me still here. Still stargazing?

I was trying to needle a fine point on a twisty road about the value of
radios. I would take a black faced R-390A but it's the Helena
Rubensteins that I'm always looking for. You are talking to good company
with Les and Al. They won't steer you wrong. Watch out for Joe. He is
ornery sometimes.

Sandy, I know what you mean about the old TV styles. I'm still
collecting the better am and am/fm tube sets. While it isn't a rare
radio, I was given the most unusual one recently. It was rescued from a
dumpster by a friend of a friend. It sort of reminds me of the back end
of the old 1957/58 Plymouth Desotas with only one fin. Sort of lopsided,
but very nice. Grill cloth is original and worn, but restorable with max
work under a magnifying glass. The problem is how to strip the thick
while paint from the plastic case. I think I can spray paint it back
like the original. It's worth a few bucks if I have to pay someone to do
it. It will go in the living room when finished. I think we have the
same sickness.
