I love the low-stress way the dial comes up. No buzz.
And the room lights don't dip anymore.
You could use a variety of coil voltages, including DC,
but 120VAC is the simplest to wire up.
Arbitrarily setting a price ceiling of $10,
I found six interesting part numbers at Mouser.
The cheapest was the Magnecraft 9AS1A52-120 at $5.
Only 12 left, but there are plenty of the others:
Omron LY1F-AC110/120
Omron LY2F-AC110/120
Omron G2R-1-T-AC120
Omron G2R-1A-T-AC120
Omron G7L-2A-TUBJ-CB-AC100/120
All of these have a mounting flange on top.
I will probably not be doing this, but if you can benefit
from my research, great.
