BINGO!  What was I thinking when I wanted to cure this problem??!!??  I now have justification to the wife for buying a linear!!! (now, where is that Ameritron catalog.....)

Well, if you have to turn off the furnace, then you need a Big Muckin'
Amplifier to keep you warm and toasty. Something with a YC-156 or bigger
seems about right. Running RTTY, of course.
