[R-390] OT: Blaupunkt Verona Alignment Questions

I almost bought a Verona a few weeks ago. There is one at a local flea

What does it do and what should I be looking for in the way of adjustment?  I'm guessing it's a neutralizing capacitor and should be adjusted to reduce the tendency of the amplifier half to oscillate but I'm not sure of that (nor am I sure how to adjust it if indeed that is its purpose).
