Push Pull 6L6s ought to give you a healthy fifteen or so watts depending on
power supply and how hard the 6ag7 drives them. I opted for VFO control
because I already had the VFO for 40 and 89 sitting idle I had originally
used it in a DC receiver It is transistorized but produces enough drive to
get at least a decent QRP signal out of a single 6L6 A decent Crystal would
have likely given me a bit more power out but I didn't have one available.
When I advance the transmitter to the next level I will probably use an 807
or possibly a 6L6 driving a pair of them in push pull. When you start your
parts collecting let me know if you get stuck on something, I'd be happy to
check my parts stash
