Charlie followed up with more info on this R-389 that is seeking a new
home. The bad news is that he opened it up by removing the covers
and found a varmint nest and there is some severe damage to the IF
module, part of the RF deck, and probably elsewhere. If you've messed
with boatanchors that have been in storage long enough you recognize
this 'organic waste corrosion' problem.
It still needs a home, is for local pickup only, and will be a
challenge to restore. If no one steps up I will suggest he part it
out. Lets keep this thing out of the dumpster. He has pictures but
they are not for the faint of heart.
